Deciding where to go for lunch, what I want from the menu at a new place, or where I want to go after dinner are the types of decisions that take a lot more of my time than I'd like them to. More often than not, it's because I'd be happy with a variety of outcomes.
After a complete change in my initial school list, I'm happy to have some great choices. Interestingly enough, it's the decisions that are meant to be thought out carefully that I love. When it comes to graduate school choice, I'm trying not to make a decision exclusively on "brand names" - USC, UCLA, Berkeley. While this is definitely important, I have to consider what I will gain from each program, the faculty that goes there, location, graduate internship availability, and financial aid, etc. While I couldn't justify making a cross-country move for the experience if it means turning down a higher ranked program in California; a generous merit scholarship offer from the former keeps it in the running.
More than anything, I'm ready. I'm ready to extensively research my options, choose between different types of programs, and make my next big move!
